I'm an Elected Leader, Finance Executive, Mom & Community Servant running for Naperville City Council

Dear Friends and Well-wishers,

The results are in, and while this election did not go our way, I could not be more grateful for the journey we shared. From the very beginning, we ran a campaign rooted in principles, focused on community, and driven by the belief that Naperville deserves thoughtful, independent leadership. We stayed true to those values, and I am incredibly proud of that.

The past several months has been a marathon—one filled with hard work, passion, dedication, and the incredible support of each one of you. You stood by me, knocked on doors, made calls, and shared our message. I am deeply moved by your commitment, and I truly could not have done this without you.

While this race was meant to be non-partisan, it is clear that broader political forces shaped the outcome.

I am beyond shocked and stunned not because I lost, but because national and party polarization took over the local municipal race. The daily issues of 911, safety, water, electricity or zoning has nothing much to do with what decisions are being made by DC. Unfortunately, nation’s bitter political divide is causing social splintering and taking a toll on friendships. Unfortunately, to this nonpartisan race, the first question being asked while canvassing was my party affiliation – how hypocritical.

Elections bring out passion, but our leaders should rise above the politics of personal attacks. I ran a positive campaign focused on what I’ll do for Naperville without anything negative about other candidates. I am super proud of that.

I have worked genuinely for this community. I love this town and will continue to dedicate myself to be your voice in my best capacity. I pledge to put in hard work every day to make Naperville a better place for every family and residents. Despite that, we remained steadfast in our mission to bring balanced leadership to Naperville, and I have no regrets. I will always stand by my belief that local governance should be about people, not politics.
I am not a quitter, my dedication to our community remains unwavering. This is not the end, this is a moment to reflect, to learn, and to keep working with even more vigor toward a better Naperville.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you did to support this campaign. Your belief in me means the world, and I am forever grateful.

With gratitude,
Meghna

Meghna Ji, you did everything right and we are proud of you! The results were influenced by the political factors beyond your control. These factors do not diminish your qualifications and abilities to be an excellent member of the Naperville City Council. Best wishes.

Can you please explain what you meant when you said, “We need to keep our Naperville borders safe” at the most recent candidate forum? Safe from whom?

Best wishes Meghna!!

God bless you with victory.🕉🕉
